Sous la demande de nombreux utilisateurs, Microsoft a adapté l'API Astoria (REST) pour qu'elle fonctionne dans la machine virtuelle de Silverlight. Ce projet se nomme ADO.NET Data Services Silverlight Add-On : "(...) Like the .NET Framework version, this library also allows developers to execute queries asynchronously, providing a more natural interaction model for a web-centric application (...)".
